Why Climb Carstensz Pyramid with Alpine Ascents?

We are excited to announce the re-opening of Carstensz Pyramid as it has been closed since 1995. Our 2007 Expedition, led by Dave Morton, saw 100% of the climbers reach the top. Our 2006 expedition led by Dave saw 7 out of 8 team members reach the summit. Prior to 1995 we were the leading guide service to Carstensz with 100% success.

Our ‘94 and ‘95 expeditions had outstanding success with a total of 18 climbers (entire expeditions) reaching the summit. Todd Burleson and Pete Athans led the ‘94 expedition while Pete Athans and Wally Berg led the ‘95 expedition.
