We support the Porter Assistance ProjectFor the past eight years, Alpine Ascents has been working closely with non-profit organizations in an effort to support community based programs. Our endeavors have included climbs to Kilimanjaro, Mt. Rainier, Mt. Adams, Mt. Olympus, Mt. Baker Glacier Peak, Denali, and a Trek to Everest Base Camp for organizations such as the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, The Survivor Fund, The Red Campaign, WA National Park Fund, Doctors Without Borders, The Susan G. Komen Foundation, The Emily Griffith Center, Team Survivor Northwest, Passages Northwest, C.A.N. (Cure Autism Now), Hats Off For Cancer, The American Red Cross, Generous Adventures, Seattle Academy, PAWS, King County Search and Rescue, The Center for the Prevention of School Violence and S.A.V.E. (Students Against Violence Everywhere). Through these climbs, Alpine Ascents can work to transform the individual goals of mountaineering to positively affect the lives of many. With the current popularity of mountaineering, it is timely to use this momentum to recognize the goals and struggles of people from all walks of life. Alpine Ascents is proud to be affiliated with such outstanding organizations and we will continue to expand our work in this area. Highlighted Climbs:
Brian Dickinson and Adam Henry aim to climb the 7 summits. They put together a website to earn money but the idea has grown way beyond just climbing mountains. Their goal is to raise enough money through the site to not only fund the trips but to also give $1.4 million back to those in need. For each summit they’re targeting $100k for an unfortunate family as well as a charity ($200k per summit).

Climb to Fight Breast Cancer Summer, 2008
All Proceeds to Benefit the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center
The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center needs your help AND stamina to aid our efforts to raise awareness and funds to eradicate breast cancer. Every summer outdoor enthusiasts join together, in honor or memory of loved ones who have battled breast cancer, to ascend some of Washington's most breathtaking peaks. Join us in 2008 as the Climb to Fight Breast Cancer ventures up Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Elbrus, Mt. Baker, and Mt. Rainier (Rainier & Elbrus applicants will be subject to an Alpine Ascents phone interview prior to confirmation on the team) Help raise funds to support the Hutch's mission to find a cure for breast cancer. Team size is limited, so register early!

Mills Davis' 2004 Everest Climb for Girls Inc.
Inspired by a passion for climbing, and motivated by her commitment to Girls Incorporated of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Mills Funk Davis is showing her support and enthusiasm for Girls Inc., by making her climb of Mount Everest a fundraising event for Girls Inc. Thousands of letters have been sent out to let people from all over know of this event, and to ask for their support of Mills’ physical challenge and to help support funding for Girls Inc. All donations go directly to Girls Inc. of Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Girls Incorporated of Bowling Green is a non-profit organization that serves over 500 girls yearly in the Bowling Green/Warren County area and its surrounding communities since 1954. Serving any girls between the ages of 5 through 18 years of age, their mission is to inspire all girls to become Strong, Smart, and Bold. Girls Inc. provides girls the opportunities needed to make a difference in their lives and the tools needed to become successful women in the future. The Survivor Fund's "Climb for Courage"
From May 22 to June 15, we're climbing for a cause! The Climb for Courage is a fundraising effort launched by The Survivor Fund, a non-profit charitable organization founded to raise money and awareness for the Bellevue/NYU Program for Survivors of Torture and related programs.Since 1995, the Program has treated survivors from more than 50 different countries, offering counseling, medical and psychological care, language lessons, and employment guidance. Perhaps most importantly, the Program reaches out and shows these men and women that someone cares and wants to help.Please join our team in spirit, for just a penny per foot! The Climb for Courage has been privately funded, and 100% of donations to The Survivor Fund go directly to supporting the Bellevue/NYU Program and related activities.
For more than 20 years the MAUZY FOUNDATION has supported special education in the San Francisco Bay Area. The foundation funds programs for over 200 students with Autism, Mental Retardation, Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome, Vision and Hearing impairment, and other Neurological disordersMatthew is a student at the Mauzy School in Alamo, CA. He is Autistic. Don Bender is Matthew's dad. In January 2002 Don climbed to the top of Aconcagua with Alpine Ascents.
This website is about the climb and the foundation. The Mauzy Foundation is offering a 30 minute digital quality documentary video of this climb to contributors to the foundation. The video is an amateur production about an ascent of the Polish Traverse route. It will give the aspiring climber a sense of what it is like to exist and travel in the harsh conditions above 22,000 feet.
