Greenland Day to Day Itinerary

Days 1-2: Depart US and fly to Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland. Transfer to domestic terminal for an Iceland Air flight to Akureyri in the northern fjord country. Here we will overnight in a local hotel.

Day 3: Early morning gear check, orientation, Leave No Trace discussion and flight to the glacier. We load a ski-equipped Twin Otter aircraft and begin the three hour crossing of the Strait of Denmark. After landing on the glacier we ski for a few hours and establish Base Camp.

Days 4-6: Climb Gunnbjornsfjeld.

Days 7-14: Climb nearby peaks, scout new locations. We attempt Mt. Johnson, Mt. Kershaw and other unnamed peaks and study possible routes on them. The climbing on these days is mixed with incredible skiing where we move between base camps.

Day 15: Return flight to Akureyri then Reykjavek . Transfer to Reykjavik.

Day 16: Fly from Reykjavik to USA.
