Steve Johnson
Guide: Washington, Alaska

As a member of the Alpine Ascents International team Steve has worked as an assistant guide both on the Denali West Buttress and teaching Alaska Mountaineering Courses. Steve is a Certified AMGA Rock and Alpine Guide and is en route to becoming an IFMGA Certified Guide. He has climbed and guided extensively in Colorado, California, Washington, Utah, Nevada, and Alaska. Internationally, Steve has led trips to Mexico and Ecuador and has climbed in France, Italy, and Switzerland. Steve's rock climbing experience includes over forty ascents of the infamous Diamond on Longs Peak in Colorado and thousands of technical rock and ice climbs around the world. Steve started climbing in 1992 and guiding in 1996. Known as a "gentle giant", his upbeat personality and a keen sense of humor has made him a favorite among clients.
