Alpha Expeditions

About

Alpine Ascents α Alpha Expeditions are personalized group journeys to lesser traveled areas of the world. For the most part they are a guide’s choice of expeditions, utilizing the guide’s expertise but generally the first time Alpine Ascents uses the exact itinerary featured. (Guides are familiar with the area but we have not stayed at every lodge along the way). In turn, advertising and promotion is simple and prices are reduced and based on number of climbers. These expeditions are perfect for those who want a more exploratory feel to their expeditions (we don’t know what every meal will be or what every lodge or tent camp looks like) without sacrificing the safety, knowledge and expertise a guide can provide.

From our most recent α Alpha Expedition, Mera Peak in Nepal:

Amazing trek. Technical rope course and use of ascenders and repelling was really integral to climb so once we were on the Mountain it seemed like review. Safety was foremost, from personal care hydration, eating, acclimatization to carefully finding the best weather window to summit. – Spring 2017 Climber

Vern and Carol were exceptional guides. Vern Tejas’ decades of experience provided valuable insights and best practices for acclimatization, climbing skills, and self-care. Practice sessions using ascenders and goat-tail device for rappelling with gloves and mitts helped build confidence in critical skills necessary for the climb. – Spring 2017 Climber

I thoroughly enjoyed the course! Its quality was excellent – it covered exactly what your website said it would. I am absolutely confident I can put these skills into practice, and I’m looking forward to doing exactly that through future trips with AAI!
