Team Amigos Transpirados Summits on Jan 2nd

Hello Friends Family and Loved Ones,

AAI Team 2 Amigos Transpirados was unable to summit on January 1st due to snow, high winds and cold temperatures but were able to summit on January 2nd. We delayed our start a little until 6:45 due to cold temperatures and had strong winds on the traverse after the Independencia Hut but we were able to get 10 out of 12 people on the summit and would have had all 12 if it was not for one person needing to to go down within 1.5 hours of the summit for altitude reasons. Everyone did well and was very fatigued after a 14hour & 45min summit day. We had a strong, positive team that worked well together. Today was January 3rd and we left high camp and descended roughly 6000ft to the Plaza de Mules Basecamp and tomorrow we will hike out the Horcones Valley there by completing a the traverse route on the mountain.

Thanks for following our cyber cast,

Brien Sheedy
