The Team arrives in picturesque Laya at 3,800 meters with plans to rest while exploring the area

Hello there friends, family, and loved ones, this is Bhutan Trekkers checking in, tell you what a wonderful day we’ve had.

We made it all the way to the very picturesque town of Laya. It’s located at 3,800 meters above sea level in the northern-northwestern corner of the country of Bhutan. It’s a farming village with very friendly people and we’re setting off to explore it tomorrow as part of our rest day.

The internet that we thought was going to be here, is not here; however, telephone service is pretty good. And just walking around town, we found some shops, we found the school. And tomorrow we’re going to go up to the monastery and check that out.

Everybody’s in good health and acclimatizing real well. And… (transmission cuts out).
