A fantastic expedition with 100% successful summit of Mount Vinson concludes as our team waits for a flight back to Union Glacier

Hello, this is Garrett Madison calling in for Alpine Ascents Mount Vinson expedition.

Today is Saturday, January 5th and today we descended from our High Camp on Mount Vinson, down to Base Camp. Everybody’s in Base Camp now, doing great. We had a nice dinner and we’re heading to bed now. And hopefully tomorrow we’re going to fly to Union Glacier Camp and wait for the Illuyshin flight back to Chile.

So we’ve had a fantastic Mount Vinson expedition, 100% success. We had a total of two Alpine Ascents guides and eleven Alpine Ascents climbers reach the summit and just had beautiful weather yesterday, so it was a great climb. We’re happy to be down off the mountain and looking forward to concluding the expedition.

This will be our last cybercast on the mountain here hopefully, and we’ll be back in Union Glacier soon.
