The whole team is all together at Low Camp enjoying a rest day

Hi, this is Garrett Madison calling in for the Alpine Ascents second Mount Vinson expedition.

Today is Monday, January 14th and today we took another rest day here in Low Camp. We were glad to be joined by the other group of climbers: Tim, Kionte, Ken, and John with Guide Matt Hegeman.

And tomorrow our plan for six climbers with Sam and Garrett is to do a carry up to High Camp. Our plan is to cache a load at High Camp and return back down to Low Camp to spend the night.

We’ve given ourselves a team name for the six climbers, we are the Pingüinos de la Montaña , “Penguins of the Mountain” (in Spanish).

So we’re going to split up tomorrow doing separate projects. But the weather’s supposed to be getting better here, the winds are dying down and everyone’s doing great. We’ll check in soon.
