A fantastic expedition concludes with a great descent to Base Camp after successfully summiting Vinson!

Hello, this is Garrett Madison calling in for the Alpine Ascents Mount Vinson expedition. Today is Sunday, January 20th and today we climbed from High Camp down to Base Camp, we had a great descent.

And everybody is now in Base Camp and we are waiting for a flight from Vinson Base Camp back to Union Glacier Camp, and then hopefully in the next day or two, from Union back to Punta Arenas, Chile.

So it was a great expedition, we had 100% success again; wonderful weather on our summit climb, spectacular views all around. Everybody’s very excited to be back down at Base Camp after a successful climb.

This will conclude our cybercasts and we look forward to posting some photos when we’re back in the U.S.
