Our Japanese Team has flown from Punta Arenas, Chile to Union Glacier in Antarctica and on to Vinson Base Camp happy to have arrived at the mountain

Hi, this is Garrett Madison calling in for the Alpine Ascents International Vinson Climb. And I’m with the Japanese Team from Adventure Guides in Japan. We’ve got eight Japanese climbers, including one Japanese Guide.

We were able to fly from Punta Arenas to Union Glacier and had a quick turnaround there, where we flew by twin otter to Vinson Base Camp. And got to Vinson Base Camp today, set up our tents, did some training, had a nice dinner, and now we’re off to bed. So it’s been a great day.

We’re very happy to have flown on schedule from Chile to Antarctica, and also from our big camp at Union Glacier in Antarctica to Vinson Base Camp. We’re finally at the mountain, really happy to be here and we’re having a great time.

We’ll check in soon. Thanks.
