Our Mexico Volcano team visits the Museum of Anthropology, Amecameca’s markets, and some Mexico City cultural sights before heading to Altzimoni Hut on Izta

Alpine Ascents Mexico Volcanoes November team is doing super well! We spent the night in the Altzimoni Hut on Izta, just above the Paseo de Cortez.

Had a great day yesterday touring the Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City, one of the “must see” sights in the city there. And then did a nice cultural tour of the local market in Amecameca, visited some churches, and then worked our way up here to the Altzimoni Hut. We had a great night’s sleep, good dinner, good breakfast, and we’re about to head out for our acclimatization hike this morning.

We’ll keep you posted on how things are going. Everyone’s doing well and says “hi” to their family and friends.

Acclimatization day hike on the flanks of Izta.
