Team 3/Tundra Wookies resting and getting psyched for their summit push on a gorgeous sunny day at High Camp

Hi, this is Matthew Emht calling in for Alpine Ascents Denali Team 3, The Tundra Wookies. Today is Thursday, the 30th and our team is taking a rest day at High Camp (at 17,200 feet). The team’s doing good, everybody’s recovering from our big move yesterday.

The weather’s really nice, it’s a hot day, no wind, couple clouds floating by beneath us and almost up around us. People are enjoying a nice ramen soup lunch; we had fried bagels and potato pancakes for breakfast. Folks are packing up their gear for tomorrow, getting hydrated, stretching, resting, getting psyched up for our big summit day attempt.

The weather forecast looks good for tomorrow and everybody’s doing great. We will give you a call as we’re able to tomorrow on our summit push. Thanks a lot for listening.
