Team 3/The Tundra Wookies feast on bacon cheeseburgers after the big summit push and descent to 14,000 Camp

Hi, this is Matthew Emht reporting for Alpine Ascents Denali Team 3, The Tundra Wookies. Today is June 1st and the Team has safely descended from High Camp down to 14,000 foot Camp.

We had a late start today. Folks were pretty tired from our big summit push yesterday but everybody did a great job coming down the hill, got down the fixed lines, down through some steeper terrain, and back to the Advanced Base Camp and the sheltered basin of 14,000 feet.

We gorged on bacon cheeseburgers, with a bunch of bacon and (Canadian bacon) and we’re going to pass out here shortly, try to wake up pretty early tomorrow and see how far we can get towards the landing strip.
