Carstensz Pyramid Expedition Returns Home

Hello Everyone,

The entire team Bintang is now out of Basecamp and on our way to Bali.  We have just landed in Timika and have one more flight to Bali this evening.  Some members have already left Bali that arrived yesterday and others will be flying home tonight.  I will update one more time with some photos.

Thanks for following along on this great adventure!

Ben

Note from the Alpine Ascents Office:

As our team was preparing to depart from basecamp, we became aware of an incident involving another group on the mountain. Unfortunately, two climbers from that group lost their lives after getting caught in severe weather overnight. Three others were rescued by a team of guides from basecamp, including our lead guide Ben Jones. Our thoughts are with the families of those who were lost, and we extend our deepest condolences to their loved ones.
