Team Dances with Mules Carries to Camp One

Hi again from Plaza Argentina,

Dances with Mules made their carry to camp one today. This was our first day with heavy loads and mountain boots. The team did a good job dealing with some challenging terrain on the way to Camp One at 16,200 feet. All of our food for the upper mountain and our cooking equipment is now cached up at camp. The weather is looking favorable for the next few days (warm temps and light winds) so spirits are high! Other than that, we’re still enjoying the easy living at basecamp. We had some stellar pork and custard for dessert for dinner (prepared by the basecamp staff). Tomorrow’s plan is to take another rest day here at basecamp before we head up onto the upper mountain for good! Below are a few photos Mike got from base camp and the carry today.

Until tomorrow!

Stephen
