Everest 2021: Lukla to Phakding and to Namche

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday we had a smooth flight to Lukla, and a nice hike to Phakding. The weather was perfect, a few clouds but nice temperature for hiking. The team is feeling good, still a little tired with Jet-lag but we are starting to get caught up with good sleep in Phakding and now for the next two nights in Namche. We are now at our favorite lodge in the Khumbu, the Panorama lodge at 11,300ft.

Today we crossed several suspension bridges today and had to climb the big “hill” up to Namche today but arrived for lunch and now are relaxing and have an opportunity to take showers.

Tomorrow we will take a short acclimatization hike up to an Everest view and hopefully get our first view of the big peaks. The rest of the afternoon tomorrow will be spent relaxing and possibly checking out a little bit of Namche.

Thanks for following along, I will get more photos out tomorrow!

Hey Alpine, I’m headed out to Washington in mid-September for a 6-day course (stoked) and I’ve been hearing a lot of great things about backcountry quilts.  Apparently all the cool-kid alpinists are using them.  Can I bring one on my course? Sincerely, Steve House in Training  Hi Steve House in Training, Thanks for reaching out […]
