Everest 2019 – Namche-Thame-Khumjung

Hello Everyone,

We’ve had a couple of fun days trekking in the Khumbu. Yesterday we hiked from Namche to Thame, the home of Lakpa Rita Sherpa. It’s a pleasant walk out to Thame and is a little off the main trekking path so very few tourist head out this way. We stayed in Lakpa Rita’s sisters lodge and visited the Thame Monastery in the afternoon. Today after breakfast we headed to Lakpa Rita’s parents house and had tea with them before heading back towards Namche and up to Khumjung. We are now at about the same elevation of Thame which is just over 12,000ft. The team is doing very well with the elevation and having fun hiking in this beautiful valley. We are now hanging out in a little cafe in Khumjung relaxing and getting ready for dinner.

The weather has been great so far, cool but not much rain or snow so far but pleasant for hiking. Tomorrow we head to Deboche just below the town of Tengboche.

Thanks for following along!
