2019 Sacred Valley Trek Begins

Hello Everyone,

Our team is all here in Cusco, and ready to begin this fantastic trek and cultural trip through the Sacred Valley of the Incas and all the way to Machu Picchu. Today we had a fun tour of Cusco city, once the capital of the Inca. We toured the amazing ruins of Sacsayhuamán, the market, the Basilica, and finished with the Temple of the sun or Coricancha. We had beautiful weather up until we reached the hotel and then started raining. It’s been a great day though and everyone is doing well with the altitude. Cusco sits at around 11,200 ft and you can feel it when you step off the plane. Tomorrow we begin the trip, leaving Cusco for the Sacred Valley. I will update you tomorrow with our progress and the amazing sites we will be seeing over the next week.

Thanks for following along,

Ben Jones

Gear Review: The North Face Phantom 50 pack

By Mike Hawkins “Man, this is a really great pack…” I said it over and over for months until my wife had finally had enough of it. She had to get one for herself.  While 50 liters is a little small for most multi-day mountaineering and winter ski tours, the small size is plenty versatile […]
