TAPS Kilimanjaro Expedition Begins!

Friends, Family & Loved Ones,

Jambo (– that’s Swahili for Hello)! Vern and Carole Tejas reporting in from Arusha, where we just finished the first day of the TAPS Kili Expedition. And a very busy day it was! After breakfast, we had an orientation and gear check to make sure that all team members were dialed in and had all the gear necessary for the climb. Look at all this stuff:

In the afternoon, we went on a walking tour of Arusha and got to visit the central market and some other interesting sights:

We ended the day with a really delicious dinner…

And are now headed to bed in order to be ready for our departure for the mountain early tomorrow morning. Everyone is doing well and is excited to start our climb. Thanks for following our adventure!

All our best,

Carole & Vern Tejas
