Everest Basecamp Trek 2019 – First Fall Team explores Kathmandu!

Namaste friends, family and loved ones, Our trekking team was up early to get a jump on a big day of sightseeing filled with World Heritage Sites. First stop was Swayambhunath, known as the monkey temple, over looking the city. It’s the oldest Stupa (a type of Buddhist monument) in the valley. Spinning prayer wheels will hopefully give us fair weather on our trek. We paid respects at the holiest Hindu Temple of Pashupati. Then we circumambulated the Boudhanath Stupa. This walk is known as a Kora. Exploration was followed by preparation as we made sure that we had all the equipment and gear needed for our trek to Everest Base Camp. We’re hoping for clear weather tomorrow morning for our flight into the mountains and first day on the trail! All our best,Carole and Vern Tejas
