Everest Basecamp Trek 2019 – Trekk’er Treating in the Khumboooo!

Namaste friends, family and loved ones!

The Yetis climbed to over 16,000 feet today to the small village of Lobuche. On our way we passed through one of the most hallowed places in the Khumbu. Many fallen climbers are honored with memorial Chorten monuments.

After arriving in Lobuche we took an acclimatization hike up the lateral moraine of the Khumbu glacier. From there the amazing upper Khumbu mountains surrounded us. It was a spectacular view we were treated to.

The team is starting to feel the altitude. A couple have reported mild headaches that have gone away. Beyond that we are in high spirits and wishing you a happy Halloween. Tomorrow we’ll try climbing Kala Pattar.

All our best, Carole and Vern Tejas

Gear Review: The North Face Phantom 50 pack

By Mike Hawkins “Man, this is a really great pack…” I said it over and over for months until my wife had finally had enough of it. She had to get one for herself.  While 50 liters is a little small for most multi-day mountaineering and winter ski tours, the small size is plenty versatile […]
