Everest 2021: We are off to the mountains!

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday we finished up all of our packing and last minute details, and now we are ready to fly to Lukla to begin our trek to Basecamp. The weather looks good this morning and we are hopefully that we will board our own flight and land in Lukla this morning. From there we begin the beautiful trek through the Khumbu valley passing through small villages along the way.

Today’s trek:

Lukla (~9,400ft)-Phakding (~8,600ft)
3-4 hours

We drop down from Lukla and continue on good trails up amd down through suburban villages to Phakding. We will cross 2 suspension bridges today and expect it to be quite warm as the day progresses.

Thanks for following along,

Ben Jones
