Adam Butterfield
Adam began his climbing journey on the rugged East Coast, honing his skills in competitions across the Tri-State area while learning from the old-school climbers of the Gunks and Acadia. He picked up ice climbing in Vermont, then headed west to Montana and Colorado, refining his technique through countless trips to Canada and Alaska. After years spent traveling the North American climbing circuit, Adam eventually settled in Leavenworth, WA. These days, he splits his time between guiding closer to home—either skiing deep Cascade powder or exploring the granite walls of Index, and travelling internationally to guide the Alps.

I enjoyed it immensely. I came back equal parts exhausted and elated, which is pretty much a perfect result for an adventure of this sort. Everybody in the group summited on the same day. Our team’s interpersonal chemistry was especially warm and supportive, even though we had not climbed together before
