    Guide: Washington

Keeley grew up on a llama ranch in rural Washington and spent her formative years exploring the Cascades. Her love for the mountains led to her study Snow Hydrology and GIS at the University of Colorado Boulder where she fell in love with backcountry skiing. She took every opportunity to live and work around the world in places like the Galapagos, Iceland, and Mongolia before returning to the Pacific Northwest. She ski patrolled and taught avalanche education in Utah for four winters. Recently, she started working at the Northwest Avalanche Center. She has an affinity for exotic fruits, traveling, and learning cultural tidbits from far-flung places across the globe. When not found romping in the mountains you’ll find her playing in the ocean and nerding out about marine megafauna. Keeley is thrilled to join the Alpine Ascents team this season.

    • Crevasse Rescue Clinic: A Lesson in the Power of Practice

By Anna Gibson I was fortunate to spend my childhood in northwestern Wyoming, with the Tetons just out my front door.
