Celebration at the finish and back to Arusha

Hello Everyone,

Today we woke up early for our final hike down to the Mweka gate where we finished our climb of Kilimanjaro! We had 100% success on the summit and are safely back to Arusha. Tonight we will finish up with a celebratory dinner to finish the climb portion of this once in a lifetime trip. Tomorrow morning 2 of the climbers will head off to the Serengeti to begin the Safari and the rest of the team will start making their journey home. Thanks for following along, and hope you will join us in the future!

Team Spicy Margherita makes it to Karanga camp

Hello Everyone,

Today we had an awesome hike up the barranco wall above barranco camp and across to Karanga camp to 13,300ft. We waited for awhile in the morning before hiking to let all of the teams and porters clear out so we had the barranco wall to ourselves! We arrived to Karanga camp for a late lunch and relaxed in camp the rest of the day. We are looking forward to heading up to our high camp tomorrow and preparing for the summit! The team is healthy and in good spirits!

Thanks for following along!

Climbing Kilimanjaro had been a personal dream for quite a while, so the realization of that dream on this trip was very special. I think the most concise statement of overall administrative effectiveness I can share is that I was able to participate with absolutely no surprises and arrived properly-equipped.
