Mount Kilimanjaro Cybercasts

Team: Poa Kachizi Cama Ndizi, back in Arusha!

Hello Everyone,

We had a great last hike, ending up at the Mweka gate just after 9am where we had celebratory singing and dancing with our Tanzanian crew before heading back to Arusha. This has been a really fun trip with a great team and 100% success on the summit! Most of the team is heading out on Safari tomorrow and we are wrapping up our season here on Kilimanjaro! We ended up having 7 trips this season with 100% success on all of them! Thanks for following along and we will be back again starting in December. Thanks to all of the climbers, Tanzanian crew, and AAI office staff for all helping to make a successful season here on Kilimanjaro in an uncertain year!

100% success on the summit for Team: Poa Cachizi Cama Ndizi!

Hello Everyone,

We left our high camp at 15,800ft heading for the summit at 12am, and arrived with our entire team to the summit and the Roof of Africa at 6:40am. After a long descent (9,000ft), we are now at our Camp for the night at Mweka Camp and at an altitude of around 10,000ft. The team did very well today and stayed strong throughout the long day! Tomorrow morning we will start our last hike out to Mweka gate and then after a celebration with our crew we will head back to Arusha. It’s been another incredible week on Kilimanjaro with a great team and awesome crew of Tanzanians making it happen. I will send some more photos tomorrow for our last cybercast of the trip!

Thanks for following along,

Ben Jones

  • Hunger Relief Fundraiser Raises Over $30K for Kilimanjaro Crew

We have not been able to operate Kilimanjaro expeditions since February 2020, and during that time our friends over in Tanzania have not been far from our mind. COVID-19 has decimated the Kilimanjaro tourism industry and the income that the local people rely on to house and feed their families. In a typical year, travel […]
