Mongolia Trek & Climb Testimonials

Administrative aspects handled flawlessly. I appreciate all of the reminders and detailed instructions/suggestions.

2019 Climber

The trip was excellent! In addition to the excellent pre-trip communications from Alpine Ascents and the superb leadership of Brian Houle, the in-country logistical support and guides were terrific.

2018 Climber

The trip was excellent! Our guide was a delight, and his flexibility and interpersonal skills greatly contributed to an enjoyable experience for a team that was diverse in mountaineering experience and age. In addition to the superb leadership of our head guide, the in-country logistical support and guides were terrific.

2018 Climber

I’ve always had a great experience on AAI outings. I just want to add that your entire team is A+++. Great client group too! This Mongolia expedition far exceeded my expectations.

2017 Climber

Yes – enjoyed that it was more than just a mountain climb. Enjoyed the cultural aspects as well as the hiking/climbing. Yes. I’ve climbed with many guides through the years and appreciated Ben’s low key yet competent demeanor and his sense of humor. Appreciated his pace and his desire to make sure everyone was able to summit.

2017 Climber

I’ve always had a great experience on AAI outings. I just want to add that your entire team is A+++. Great client group this year too! I know everyone enjoyed this Mongolia expedition. The Mongolia expedition far exceeded my expectations.

2017 Climber

Excellent all around! Mongolia and Mt. Khuiten with AAI exceeded my high expectations! The overall experience was fantastic including Mongolia’s culture, people, and landscapes. I would highly recommend this expedition and climb to any alpine mountaineer who wishes expand their horizons and climb to Mongolia’s high point on the border of Russia, China and Mongolia. Ben Jones is a first class mountain guide and expedition leader. His competence and experience came through from day one in Unlaanbaatar to the summit of Mt. Khuiten. Ben Jones has the combination of a world-class climbing resume and winning personality. He has the ability to easily deal with the different personalities of a group of strangers and bring them together as a loyal and enjoyable team. Gordon has worked with me for over five years in an effort to make the Mongolia AAI expedition happen and this year it all came together. Gordon and the AAI Seattle team are wonderful. Also, Charles Mulvehill at Scan East West Travel is an excellent travel advisor and my flights from the USA via Korea to Mongolia and back were flawless.

I’d do it again. Met my expectations in terms of culture, conditioning, and mountaineering experiences.  Good logistical layout.  Great local guides, great point of interest visitation plan.  I rate it higher than other organizations expeditions I have been on.

  • Find your people. Find your community.

by Liane Lau Arriving to the Alpine Ascents Seattle Office at 0630 for gear check – made me question my life choices. To be an effective mountaineer, you should be a combination of a marathon runner, a weight-lifter, and a climber. I am none of those things. I don’t even particularly like those things. The […]
