Great Peaks of Peru Testimonials

We were spoiled during the entirety of the trip. Lodging was excellent. The food was magnificent. The weather was great. I even had the opportunity to sleep out under the brilliant stars at high altitude.

2019 Climber

This trek clearly placed itself as one of the best I have ever participated in. The defined acclimatization program (hiking, climbing, altitude adjustment) adhered to a strict daily progression outline that was near perfect in meeting the continuous physical challenges that developed daily.

The guides and assistant guides were outstanding! Truly caring and VERY patient. Jose Luis has assembled a stellar team.

2019 Climber

I wanted to tell you that Jose Luis and Rene are just wonderful.  They are just great and you run a perfect operation.  I will be a client as long as my legs allow me to climb, I am already thinking about next summer…

Excellent trip along with very flexible itinerary.  Jose Luis was outstanding, His foremost concern was the safety and well-being of the group.  One of the safest and most skilled individuals I have ever met in the mountains!  Excellent strengths in the gaining of acclimatization near and on Pisco and the level of acclimatization was clearly shown by our group by excellent conditioning when Pisco was climbed (In an excellent perspective to other groups who suffered on Pisco and/or who were unsuccessful).

Overall the trip was outstanding.  The climbs themselves combined with the culture made for a very enjoyable vacation.  The guides were very professional, fun and easy to get a long with.  The logistics were seamless.  I felt like I was in good hands at all times.  Jose Luis was the best all-around guide I have ever climbed with.

Yes, I enjoyed my expedition very much. Great itinerary with lots of mountains to climb. All skills review sessions were good, thorough, guides were patient, explained things clearly, etc. Good progression of mountains

Great expedition. Good group of people, great guides and great weather resulted in great success. All 4 peaks submitted. 100% success on Chopi which I think is a first for Alpine Ascents.

  • Crevasse Rescue Clinic: A Lesson in the Power of Practice

By Anna Gibson I was fortunate to spend my childhood in northwestern Wyoming, with the Tetons just out my front door. Those mountains are the real-deal—truly an epic playground for a mountain runner and a backcountry skier like me. Yet the Teepee, Schoolroom, and Skillet Glaciers of the Tetons are dwarfs compared to the glaciers […]
