Why Trek with Us

Why Trek with Alpine Ascents?

There are certain treks that can really benefit from the support of trained guides and better logistics, the same reason why people continue to go to Peru, Kilimanjaro and Nepal with us. We always use local guides not only for their expertise but to foster a cultural sharing that great travel experiences can offer.

The Story: Like Kilimanjaro, our Everest Trek and our Lodges of Peru Trek, we believe that the more demanding treks around the world can truly benefit from the leadership of an experienced mountaineer and high quality amenities. With this in mind Alpine Ascents will look to offer 2-3 “boutique ” treks each season. All trips will be led one of our esteemed guides, while carefully overseeing the food, lodging, and tent camps of each expedition. Our goal is to make these treks enjoyable and more accessible to a wider variety of outdoor enthusiasts.

How we pick regions: Our world is well traveled in many places, but certain corners have been overlooked. Perhaps they are hard to get to or never found their place in travel magazines. Our treks are lovingly picked as places we think are intrinsic in their raw mountain beauty and local culture.

Our Thanks: Our thanks goes out to those who spurred us on to offer demanding treks, but also to the overwhelming response for more information and again, the trust in us that we can really personalize these great adventures with our unique style.

EXPERIENCE

Alpine Ascents guides are revered as mountaineers, instructors and cultural enthusiasts. Climbing and trekking high peaks in the Himalayas and on every continent fully encompasses their expertise. Their passion and knowledge of different cultures is contagious, and will add to the already profound richness of your expedition. We are confident that our expertise is unsurpassed. We have been guiding treks during the past two decades and have consistently run expeditions each year. Our familiarity with the regions we visit, combined with our expertise and knowledge around the world, lend a depth to every expedition that we feel is unrivaled in the guiding community.

LOGISTICS

We believe that the trekker should be lost in the world of mountains and travel unfettered by the rigors of food preparation, lodging and logistics. Alpine Ascents offers the most comprehensive programs available, using distinguished staff, and a diverse assortment of quality meals. (Some of the food is flown in from the U.S. Although the local food is a part of our diet, we find that a wide variety of food helps keep trekkers healthy and strong).

All 4 guides were top level, and given the great guide-to-client ratio, we could really enjoy and get to know them. As well as learn from them and receive their advice.
