Jambo Friends, family, and loved ones,

Another morning of descending thousands of feet we finally made it to the Mweka exit gate. And what a surprise we had as all of our crew greeted us with song and dance.

Vinson Team Returns to Union Glacier

Hello & Namaste Everyone, it’s a pleasure to announce that the team is back in Union Glacier safe and sound after a successful expedition on Mt Vinson, we had 💯 success.

Today we woke up with beautiful weather at high camp, had breakfast and descended all the way back to base camp and was lucky enough to catch a flight back to Union Glacier camp.

We had a successful summit of Mt Vinson yesterday and everyone is back in Union Glacier Camp safe and sound. We are hopeful weather would be great for us to fly back to Punta Arenas the day after, will keep it posted. All is good, everyone is very happy to be back here and looking forward to get back to our loved ones soon.

Acclimation day

Today we had a nice slow morning and breakfast before meeting up with our local guide, Chito, who will climb Malinche with us. We did an acclimation hike up to 12000ft, then enjoyed a relaxed afternoon in the sun. We will have dinner and then take an early night so we can get up earlier tomorrow to climb!
We will check back in tomorrow!

Vinson Team Returns to High Camp

Lots of Learning!

Hello!

Before leaving Mexico city we went to the famous museum of Anthropology, where the group got a guided overview of the first peoples in the Americas and some of the different ccivilizations that have been here since. After that we made our escape from the big city and had lunch at a beautiful hotel in Tlaxcala, another important historical city. Our local cultural guide took everyone on a walking tour of tlaxcala that included the oldest church in the Americas and oldest bull rung in Mexico. Then it was finally time to head for our lodging for the evening: cabana style cabins at the foot of La Malinche, our first objective!
We will continue to keep you updated, thanks for following along!

Vinson Team Summits!

Nifty Fifty reaches Kosovo Camp

Hello Everyone,
The stormy weather continues for the nifty fifty climbers today as we climbed to high camp. We are now at Kosovo camp which is at 15,800ft.  We made good time to camp despite the winter mix and clouds throughout the day.  Once we arrived we got settled into our tents and then had lunch and a summit briefing.  After Linner (lunch and dinner combined) we head back to our tents to organize our gear for the summit and now we are ready for some rest before waking up at 10:45pm for breakfast before departing at 12midnight for the summit.  We are hoping for some clearer skies tonight!  But even if we don’t have clear skies the team is in great spirits and ready for the final challenge to the Roof of Africa.  The team is doing incredibly well with damp clothes and tents and dealing with the adversity like pros!  I will let you know tomorrow once we are back down to our low camp from the summit.  Thanks for following along,
Ben

Kili Tar Hills Call from the Summit of Kilimanjaro!

Bienvenidos a Mexico!

Everyone has safely arrived with all of their bags, and we met up to do a gear check before heading to a delicious first dinner of traditional Mexican tacos, tortas, volcanes, and more! The team is looking forward to getting some rest before we really kick things off tomorrow and head out of Mexico City.
We will keep you updated as we go!
