Team Tours Delhi

Friends, family & loved ones,

We set out this morning to explore some of the highlights of Delhi. The city is one of extremes and to experience it can best be described as Sensory Overload (in a good way). First thing this morning, we hopped on some rickshaws that took us into the heart of Old Delhi.

There was a lot going on- We saw the spice market, wandered narrow lanes with stores selling wedding clothing and accessories, paused to look at the people selling flower petals for temple offerings.

We walked by all types of street food, monkeys roaming around and two huge, holy cows hanging out on a busy corner sidewalk.

As I said, sensory overload.

From there we headed to New Delhi for a totally different experience- calmer and leafier. We visited Mahatma Ghandi’s memorial, Humayun’s Tomb and a very interesting stepwell from the 10th century holding rainwater.

Traffic in Delhi was snarled today because of some massive political protests, so we had to be a bit flexible with the sightseeing route but we were able to get a sense of the diversity and scale of the city.

Early tomorrow morning, we fly to Leh, in Ladakh, for a couple days of acclimatization before we start our trek.

Ladakh Nubra Valley Trek Begins!

Friends, family & loved ones,
Greetings from Delhi, India, one of the world’s largest cities and very possibly the most chaotic and colorful. Most of the Team met up for the first time this evening. We had a briefing about the trip, got to know one another a bit and were able to compare notes about the pre-trip excursion to the Taj Mahal in Agra, which by all accounts was fabulous.
