May 12th Expedition stays cozy at Camp 1

AAD1 checking in from stormy 11 camp.  Everyone is doing well. Hanging in the tents today and taking turns shoveling! Hoping to retrieve our cache tomorrow if the weather allows.

May 12th Team moves to Camp 1!

May 12th Denali takes a second rest day to monitor weather

We spent today hunkered down in stormy weather at the base of ski hill still waiting on our next chance to move uphill.  We can’t do it with the current conditions because everything would get too wet and be too cold afterwards….  Much like this bird that blew up the glacier.

May 14th Denali “Crevasse-Holes” calls in an update from Camp 1

May 12th Denali takes their first Rest Day

Today we spent the day in camp resting and doing camp beautification due to worse weather at higher elevations and poor visibility. We are looking forward to moving up as soon as we get the opportunity.  Everyone is doing well.

The expedition has been a great experience in every way. All the factors that intervene in this program make it figuratively an incredible experience for a lifetime. The landscape, strong and great leadership of the team of guides make the expedition to Denali something that can be fully enjoyed.

  • Denali ’24 in a Nutshell

    Submission by Jess, Alaska Operations.
