Everest Team Arrives in Thame
Hello Everyone,
We have been enjoying nice cool weather for the trek and some great rests in between hikes. We spent two nights in Namche, got to see Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam for the first time, and had a nice Puja ceremony in the Namche Monastery this morning as we were leaving town for Thame. On the way to Thame today we stopped at friends houses for tea, went to Ngima Tenzing’s house (our Sirdar, head Sherpa) to say hi to his parents and sisters and had tea. We also visited the nunnery in Thamo, had lunch and then continued on to Thame (12,600ft). It was a great day and one of my favorite hikes as we are now off the beaten path to Basecamp. We will spend two nights here in Thame, and will do a little hike tomorrow and also have another Puja ceremony at the Thame monastery. The team is doing great and enjoying being in the Khumbu!
Thanks for following along,
Ben Jones
