Juice Box Heroes reach Laya!

Posted on October 29, 2026 | Cybercasts

Friends, family and loved ones,

Our amazing luck with the sunny weather finally came to end today. Overcast skies told us that two weeks of fun in the sun was done. Our path wound through pleasant forests along the shore of the upper Mo chu river.

The Mo Chu is the Mother river and it flows south from the Himalayan range. It combines with the Pa Chu , the Father river in Punakha

Headwater of Mo Chu.

Fortunately we were able to descend most of the way to the mountain village of Laya before it began sprinkling. We were blessed to find lodging in a rustic building in town just before the rain came.

Tim getting comfortable in our new digs.

Rather than our usual trail lunch our crew set us up inside near the wood stove. We celebrated with our lunch drink of choice FROOTI. These boxes of juice gave us our new team name. The Juice Box Heros!
We pretty sure Foreigner would be appalled by our misappropriation of their classic song 🎵

Juice Box Heros!

Everyone wants to be warm on a rainy day.

We are warm and toasty in Laya for now. Tomorrow we will descend from this Alpine paradise and drive to the bustling community of Punakha. Care to join us?

All our best,
Vern Tejas and the Juice Box Heros
