Juice Box Heros (formerly known as Team Jūgi) crosses Shinge La Pass!

Posted on October 28, 2026 | Cybercasts

Friends, family and loved ones,

Team Juice Box Heros (formerly known as Team Jūgi) pulled our highest pass today. The Shinge La pass is over 5000m or 16,474 ft. and it’s way up there. The air is so thin we had to seriously pace ourselves using the Rest Step and pressure breathing techniques.

Looking south at a pit stop.

After 4 hours of plodding up hill Shinge La came into view. We could hear the flapping of prayers a long way before we got to the top.

Shinge La pass 16,474 ft.

Ducking out of the wind on the north side of the pass we were treated to some fine mountain views.

Tim and Masa Gang peak 7165m.

Tiger mountain dominated the vista to our north.

Ganache Ta or Tiger mountain 6840 m.

Then we drop down 3,000 feet to a gorgeous river camp where we had another lovely camp fire.

The team is stoked that our acclimatization is working so well. Tomorrow we descend to the alpine village of Laya. Descend with us.

All our best,
Vern Tejas and the Juice Box Heros
