The Team leaves Mexico City
This morning we loaded all our duffles and backpacks in the van and started our journey to the Mexico Volcanoes. Our first stop was the National Museum of Anthropology, which is one of the great museums of the world. We learned about prehispanic peoples of Mexico on a tour through the museum that Arnoldo, our local tour guide lead. Then we drove a couple hours east to a town called Tlaxcala, where we ate a huge lunch in the gorgeous San Francisco Hotel on the man square and went for a walking tour of the town.
Afterwards we continued further east to the flanks of La Malinche, where we will stay for the next couple of days as we acclimatize for Orizaba by enjoying an ascent of La Malinche.
