Team reaches Thame and Khumjung
Namaste Everyone,
Yesterday the team walked through some snow to reach the beautiful village of Thame, the traditional home of many of the climbing Sherpa that have worked with us on Mt Everest. We stayed in the tea house of Dr Kami T Sherpa, who has run the Hilary foundation hospital in Khunde for nearly 30 years.
Today we backtracked through the lovely juniper forest towards Namche, before cutting over the hill to Khunde and Khumjung. We visited the Hilary hospital and then enjoyed showers at our accommodation the Ama Dablam Lodge in Khumjung at 12,400 feet. Tomorrow we head to the village of Tengboche and the famous Tengboche monastery, one of the most important Buddhist monasteries in the world
