The Alpine Ascents team arrives in Patagonia!
Hello everyone!
We are happy to announce that our group of trekkers arrived in El Calafate, the hub for travelers in this area of Argentine Patagonia, and today traveled to the small town of El Chaltén, near the Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre massifs. Along the way, they enjoyed views of Lake Argentino (the largest freshwater lake in Argentina) and Lake Viedma (the deepest lake in the Americas according to recent research). They also had the opportunity to observe guanacos (camelids native to South America) and rheas (flightless birds).
They took their first introductory hike to the Eagle and Condor viewpoints, where they were able to see some of these magnificent birds in flight. The team enjoyed their welcome dinner at Hotel Los Cerros, and tomorrow they will go on a longer hike to Laguna Torre.
That’s all for now. More soon!
Cheers!
Josè and the team
