The January 3 Volcanoes of Ecuador Trip Begins!

Hi Everyone,

Stephen here checking in from Quito. Our Ecuador Volcanoes Trip is officially underway! The whole team met up this morning and we started the day with a gear check then spent the rest of the day touring the historic district of Quito, which was founded in 1534! We visited a monument to the Virgin Mary with expansive views of the city, several Spanish cathedrals from the colonial era, ate lunch, visited a few shops then made our way back to the hotel. Tomorrow we’re headed to Pasochoa, a 13,776’ extinct volcano southeast of Quito to begin our acclimatization process then continuing on to Papallacta Hot Springs.
