Alyssa Young

Guide: Washington

Alyssa grew up in Northern California and now calls the North Cascades her home. She is a dedicated backcountry skier and climber, and has worked throughout the West as an avalanche and outdoor educator. These days she spends winters ski guiding and teaching avalanche courses, summers on the peaks and glaciers of the North Cascades, and the occasional spring hosepacking in Patagonia. Alyssa is a volunteer member of Bellingham Mountain Rescue and cares deeply about community care and equipping others to be safe and informed mountain travellers.

Alyssa loves the multifaceted nature of guiding and avalanche education, and is constantly learning about how people relate to community and place and through mountain travel. She’s excited to get out with you and learn about what brings you to the mountains!
