“Grateful Sled” waits out the weather at 14 Camp

Team “Drag Queens” moves up to 11k on a blustery day

“Grateful Sled” gets their pizza on at 14 Camp

Today we enjoyed a rest day at 14k camp and had the opportunity to drink lots of water and eat lots of food to help our bodies recover and acclimate to the altitude of the upper mountain. Weather was overall pleasant with scattered clouds and periods of sunshine. Tonight for dinner I made pizzas! A true delicacy at 14,000’. Tomorrow we are anticipating increased winds and heavy snow, and are planning on sitting tight at our camp for the day. Stay tuned for an update on a plan to move to the upper mountain soon.

“Dreadnoughtasauras” enjoys rest & recovery at 14 Camp

The team had its first full rest day today and it was glorious. We had hashbrowns and sausage, soup and quesadillas, and a pizza dinner. We are now shopping for a weather window to move up higher on the mountain… With tomorrow forecasted as snowy and windy we’ll be posted up at 14k’ again, making preparations and getting poised. Stay tuned!

The mountain guides not only showed a high level of leadership within the group but also a high level of skills and mastery of what is necessary for a very technical environment that offers challenges.
