Private Climbs

Our Expertise at Your Convenience

Private guides for groups, individualized training and specific peaks can be arranged by calling our office. Private training provides a wonderful opportunity for personalized programs from beginning to advanced levels and the chance to develop skills at your own pace. We run numerous private trips each season; most commonly:

  • Four and six-day training courses on Mount Baker
  • Winter training courses (these can often be done on Rainier, but generally without a summit attempt)
  • Summit climbs of Mount Baker, Shuksan, Eldorado, Glacier Peak, and other classics of the Cascades
  • Rock climbing courses
  • Courses in the Alaska Range

For more information about Private Climb Itineraries, contact our Director of Programs, Gordon Janow with your climbing ideas.

The Pee Bottle and Pee Funnel

The Flats, Ingraham Glacier, Mount Rainier – 10:00 p.m. It’s the night before your summit push, and you’re lying in your tent wide awake. Your tentmate is fast asleep next to you. Adrenaline and nervous energy made it difficult for you both to settle down after dinner, especially since the Pacific Northwest sun was still […]
