Team “Los Incognitos” climbs the Entreves Traverse
Team “Los Incognitos” continues climbing – today we climbed the “Entreves Traverse” and all team members made great time – we beat guidebook time by about an hour an a half – so that was good. The route was crowded, European style.
At the end of the day, team member Amy Duff commented “I think I really like Alpine Climbing” – welcome to the club Amy…
Here’s a photo of Lead Guide Mike Arnold guiding the route – if you zoom in you will get a sense of how many people were on the route…
Team “Los Incognitos” at Torino hut
Today the Alpine Ascents Matterhorn group team “Los Incognitos” left Chamonix and ride the Aguille du Midi and Panoramique lifts to Point Helbronner. After depositing our kit in the Torino Hut, we climbed the Aiguille Marbreés. While still relatively easy, this climb represented a step up in Alpine climbing from yesterday’s objective, and the team is getting used to moving roped up in the type of terrain that the Alps have to offer.
Everyone did well, cruising the terrain, and we are enjoying hut life on the Italian side of the Alps.
Attached is a photo of lead guide Mike Arnold on the summit of the Aiguille Marbreés, with the Dent du Geant in the background.

Matterhorn Team “Los Incognitos” Starts Program
Hey folks:
The Alpine Ascents International July 23 team started our program today. After introductions and a briefing in the lobby of our hotel – the well situated Pointe Isabelle – the team headed up to the Brevent, which is a ski, hiking, and paragliding area above Chamonix. There we spent time working both short and long roped in alpine terrain – cruising along ridges and practicing moving together. We also did some top-roped rock climbing, climbing up to 6a (5.10b) in our approach shoes (Amy Duff upped the bar and showed us all up by wearing her mountain boots and still keeping up).
I’ll attach a couple of photos here – one of the team (looking good!), and another of Lead Guide Mike Arnold leading his rope team on the classic route "Mic et Maus" with Mont Blanc in the background. Yes, that was the setting for today…
Thanks for following our cybercast!

I enjoyed it immensely. I came back equal parts exhausted and elated, which is pretty much a perfect result for an adventure of this sort. Everybody in the group summited on the same day. Our team’s interpersonal chemistry was especially warm and supportive, even though we had not climbed together before
