No Shoutcuts climb to high camp ( 12,320ft. )

Hello friend, family and loved ones,

Today the shortcuts went out on the glacier and climbed up to about 12,000 feet. It was a beautiful stroll with only a few crevasses to jump.

Glacier is slowly receding, like many throughout the world.. The team is in good spirits and their acclimation is paying off. We’re now established in high camp. we are enjoying another great deal this time prepared by our local guides and then we’re off to bed for an early morning start tomorrow. Weather permitting we should be able to top out in four or five hours then we’re gonna come down and rest for the night and go try another peak, but it’s all depends on the weather.

We are thinking of all you back home and wishing you could be here to enjoy these lovely blue skies and white mountains. Thanks for joining in.. Hope to be able to get a Cyber Cast out tomorrow. Good night from high camp!

No Shortcuts acclimate on Malchin (13,287 ft. )

Friends, family, and loved ones,

We climbed Malchin peak and were rewarded with a spectacular view of our goal Mt. Khüite. We got out on the trail at 8 am to make use of the early morning good weather.  We had a happy trail.

It was a mellow moraine walk to the base of Malchin. Another 4 hours of pressure breathing and rest stepping put us on the summit

No Shortcuts Summits Malchin Peak!

Team No Shortcuts climbs to base camp

Hello friends, family and loved ones,

Another early morning and long day for the team. We drove to the park entrance and had lunch. When we had demolished lunch, we loaded our camels and trekked to base camp 9 miles up valley.

The scenery was spectacular until dark clouds rolled in and proceeded to dump on us.

Tomorrow is an acclimation day so we test our metal on a nearby peak. Please come join us.

The trip was excellent! Our guide was a delight, and his flexibility and interpersonal skills greatly contributed to an enjoyable experience for a team that was diverse in mountaineering experience and age.
