Arabs at Altitude bring gear up to high camp and practice glacier climbing techniques at 13,000 feet on Elbrus

Hey there friends, family, and loved ones this is Arabs At Altitude calling in from high camp. We’re located about 13,000 feet, at what we call the New Hut, at the side of the highest mountain in Europe, that’s Mount Elbrus.

We had a great day today moving up all of our gear and equipment, lift after lift, and then onto snowcat, then finally on foot, all the way up to our camp. We’ve been practicing our techniques today, crampons, ice axe, self arrest, everybody got lots of information and seemed to be having a fairly good time, and that’s great because we’re at 13,000 feet.

We’ve got a half moon, and we’re looking forward to moving up tomorrow to Pastukov Rocks. So stay tuned for the further adventures of Arabs At Altitude.

Hello there friends, family, and loved ones, this is Arabs at Altitude reporting in.

We had another full day of acclimatization, as we climbed to the observatory in beautiful weather. Everybody is feeling great. We got a lot of photographs of the waterfall, and great background. We are now back in the hotel after having a great dinner and looking forward to a long night of sleep.

Tomorrow we are going to head up the mountain, so please join us, and we’ll see you there. Ciao for now!

Elbrus Team Arabs at Altitude practicing skills and acclimatizing on the Cheget Ridge under beautiful Russian skies

Hey there friends, family, and loved ones! This is Team Arabs at Altitude reporting in.

This is Vern Tejas, the Guide, along with my wife, Carol and we have a great team. This team is young and dynamic and really fun to be with. We had a great day acclimatizing up on Cheget Ridge. We left early this morning and started up the ridge, on the lip, and once we got high enough, we began walking to the top in beautiful sunny weather. Everybody had a great time. We went over basics of how to breathe, how to pace yourself, how to use your feet, and it was a very educational day and Carol and I learned a lot about our new friends. It’s been a great experience for us and we’re looking forward to tomorrow doing more of the same when we go up the Observatory Ridge.

So stay tuned and turn on tomorrow for Arabs at Altitude. Ciao Ciao for now!
