Lobuche East first Rotation

Hello Everyone, Today, after spending two nights on Lobuche East at 18,400ft, we are back in Basecamp! This completes our first of two rotations of acclimatization for Everest. We had great weather the last few days and an enjoyable climb to a high point on Lobuche East up to ~19,500ft. The next couple of days we will be resting in Basecamp and then preparing for our second acclimatization rotation up to C1, C2, and C3 on Everest. I’ll send a few more pics from Lobuche tomorrow. We are all doing well here and excited to be back home to Basecamp, I think especially for showers tomorrow morning! Ben Jones

Everest Team Acclimitizing on Lobuche

The Everest team has sent in an update from the field. They are acclimatizing on Lobuche (elevation 20,075 ft) and everybody is feeling strong! They will return to basecamp in a few days to continue their skills practice before heading to the upper mountain.

Thanks for following along!

Preparing for Lobuche East climb

Hello Everyone, We have had some great days here in Basecamp but are leaving tomorrow to head to Lobuche East to climb and acclimate to some higher altitudes. Tomorrow after lunch we will head down to Lobuche village to spend the night and the next day head up to high camp for two nights. This will act as our first “rotation” sleeping closer to the altitude of Camp 1 on Everest. The weather has been great and the team is doing well! Talk to you soon, Ben

Puja day in Basecamp and some skills review

Hello Everyone, Yesterday we had one of the best Puja’s I’ve been a part of in the last 13 years of guiding in the Himalayas. We had excellent weather all day a fun team and an energetic Sherpa team that made it a unique and special day for this climbing team. In the next few days we will go part way up the Khumbu icefall, and then we will head down valley for our climb and acclimatization in Lobuche East peak. Overall the weather has been perfect but the winds are moving fast up high! Thanks for following along! Ben

Your team were amazing (as usual) and it was a superb and successful trip. Our team had no injuries (got on really well as a team). When I compare this against most other teams I knew, this is amazing and reflects the attitude with which your guides lead. Thanks again for a once in a […]
