Basecamp and skills review

Hello Everyone, We are having a great time here in Basecamp, relaxing and acclimatizing. We have started some skills review today at Basecamp and in the layer icefall. Tomorrow we will practice more skills and then have our Puja on the 21st. The internet connection has been very slow but will continue to try and get more photos out in the coming days. Thanks for following along! Ben

Basecamp!

Hello Everyone,

Today we arrived to Basecamp after a 7 hour pleasant hike from Dzongla in great weather.

We are going to get moved in the next couple of days and get use to the altitude!

More pics tomorrow.

Dragnag-Cho La pass-Dzongla

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday we climbed up and over Cho La pass and descended to Dzongla. We made great time and had great hiking weather. The group is doing great, and excited to get to Basecamp today! We are leaving from Dzongla shortly and will hike back to the main trail, pass through Lobuche and Gorak Shep before arriving to Basecamp. We are looking forward to moving into our home for the next 6 weeks and seeing our crew.

I will post more photos once we arrive to BC and get connected. The next couple of days we will be resting and adjusting to Basecamp altitude of 17,500ft.

Thanks for following along,

Ben

Thame-Lungden-Renjo La- Gokyo

Hello Everyone Yesterday we had an easy hike along the river up the valley to Lungden, the last village before Renjo La pass. We left Lungden this morning and climbed up and over the pass and then descended to Gokyo. We are now at 15,700ft in Gokyo and just enjoyed a delicious Chicken sizzler for dinner. It was a little cloudy when we topped out on the pass so we didn’t get to see the high peaks but I will add a photo from last year that shows what we would have seen. The team is doing well and feeling good with the altitude. Tomorrow we will do an acclimatization hike up Gokyo Ri and will hopefully have good views of the peaks in the morning before a short hike down to Dragnag, just below Cho La pass. We are just a few days away from arriving to Basecamp! Thanks for following along, Ben

Acclimatization in Thame

Hello Everyone, We had an incredible day today hiking to a new high point and visiting the Thame monastery. We got to have another Puja preformed by a high Lama and also by one of our climbing Sherpas who is also a monk. After the Puja we were able to meet and get a blessing from the new young Rinpoche which was a great experience for the team. Tomorrow we are heading up the valley to Lungden. Thanks for following along, Ben

Thanks so much to all of you at AAI for making my dream of making the Seven Summits come true, I could not have accomplished this feat without the support of the entire team especially the guides and Sherpas.
