Puja day

Hello Everyone,

The last couple of days we have done some training, practicing walking on ladders with crampons and ascending and descending on ice.

Today we had our Puja ceremony which is a ceremony asking for safe passage up and Mt Everest. It was a pretty windy morning but as soon as we started the Puja the winds died down.

Everyone is getting healthy again after some colds that went around camp, and tomorrow we will do our first significant hike since arriving in basecamp. Tomorrow we plan to go on a couple hour hike up towards Pumori Camp 1 ( which is on the opposite side of basecamp from Everest). We will gain at least 1,000ft in elevation to further our acclimatization.

The next couple of days our Sherpa crew will be stocking camp 1 and 2, and then we plan to start our first rotation on the mountain starting in the 23rd.

I will post a few pics and also have a Puja video uploading now.

Thanks for following,

Ben Jones

The Expedition Crew…

Team Sweet and Salty, Training and Resting

Hello Everyone,

Today we did some training in the lower icefall, practicing rappelling, cramponing, using an ascender, and climbing. Tomorrow we will do more training, practicing walking across ladders! I will send some pics tomorrow and a training video in the next few days. The team is recovering from some colds that have gone around and on the mend.

Thanks for following!

I want to thank you for an adventure of a lifetime. As always the staff and logistics of Alpine Ascents exceeded my expectations and I couldn’t be more satisfied. A while back you mentioned win-win relationships. My win was a rewarding trip to Mt. Everest.
