Namche-Deboche

Hello Everyone,

Today we hiked from Namche to Deboche in great weather! After our first 15 minutes on the trail today we got our first views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam! It’s always incredible to see these spectacular mountains. We had a photo shoot today with pictures below on the way to Deboche. We had a big hill to climb up to Tengboche today, where we stopped at the famous monastery and watched a Buddhist ceremony before heading down to our lodge for the night. We are at about 12,300ft tonight. Tomorrow we continue further up the valley towards EBC! Thanks for following along!

Namche

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday we had a great hike up to Namche at 11,300ft. Everyone is doing very well with the altitude, I got a bit of a stomach bug but am on the mend today. The group went on a hike today to help with our acclimatization and the rest of the afternoon we will relax and explore the village of Namche. We are at my favorite lodge in the Khumbu, the Panorama lodge, with our friends the owners Sherap and Lakpa Sherpa. So far the weather has been pretty good. We have had some rain at night but mostly clear during the day. We are hearing, and seeing that the busiest trekking season in Nepal (the fall) is unfortunately very light on Trekkers and tourists. People are estimating it is down up to 60%! Sad, for a country that relies on tourism. Hopefully this won’t last for Nepal!

Tomorrow we will head to our next village in the way to Basecamp, Deboche. We will pass through and explore the monestary at Tengboche and then relax in Deboche with views of Everest right out the windows of the lodge.

Thanks for following along!

Kathmandu-Lukla-Monjo

Hello Everyone,

We woke up to rain this morning but it cleared up and had a beautiful flight to Lukla at 9,300ft. After a second breakfast at our favorite tea house we started the trek and decided to go a little further on our first day to Monjo. Everyone did great! We just finished dinner and are heading off to bed. It has started raining now but are hoping it will be clear for us tomorrow as we hike to Namche. Namche is at 11,300ft and we will spend two nights there before continuing towards Basecamp. Thanks for following along…..we are looking forward to some sleep tonight!

Ben

We are hoping the rain stops and we get to Lukla today!

I enjoyed the trek more than I ever would have imagined! The days were long, but I enjoyed all of the culture, the expertise of our guides, the scenery, the tea houses, our amazing porters and sherpas. I could go on and on!
