Elliot is from the small town of Bolton Landing, in the Adirondack Mountains of northern New York. He began climbing in 2000 on an Outward Bound course and has never looked back. He has climbed and skied extensively throughout the US and Canada, and climbed a bit in the western Alps. He has guided in the mountains since 2005, working in Alaska (31 fly-in expeditions), Wyoming, and New Hampshire. He moved to Anchorage, AK in 2014 where he lives with his wife and children.
